Non-Traditional Admission @ Northwestern State University

Adult Students ages 21 -24 years old who have a high school diploma or the equivalent, and have never attended a college or university in the past have the option to be admitted as either a part-time degree seeking student or a full-time non-degree seeking student.  Once the adult learner has earned at least 12 college level hours with a minimum 2.0 GPA, and needs no more than one developmental course, he or she can enroll full-time as a degree seeking student in the major of his or her choice.  Please complete the Application for Admission and pay your $20 application fee.  We will need your immunization records unless you were born before 1957 or are taking all classes online.

Adults ages 25 or older who do not have a high school diploma or the equivalent may be admitted on academic probation to a degree program with qualifying Compass scores (34 or higher in Pre-Algebra AND 72 or higher in Reading AND 52 or higher in Writing) Ability to Benefit for Financial Aid.  Please complete the Application for Admission and pay your $20 application fee.  We will need your immunization records unless you were born before 1957 or are taking all classes online.
