College is a time of many changes and choosing a college is very important. The next four years will shape your life and become the foundation of your career. Whoa! That’s a lot to take in but don’t worry here at Northwestern State University we have a entire campus of friendly student oriented faculty, staff and programs. Our staff will help you with everything from touring campus and applying for admissions, to Freshman Connection which lets you get accustomed to campus life the summer before classes start. There are numerous organizations that you can become a part of here. Everything from intramural sport teams, fishing clubs, Greek life, social clubs, honor societies, and religious organizations are already founded on campus. So if you are looking to get involved we have something for you. NSU also provides numerous student services that are available to all NSU students. So before we start planning all of your activities lets first start with what you need to be admitted to Northwestern State University.
- Our first step is definitely getting you acquainted with your recruiter. We have recruiters that help you through every step of admission and make sure that the process goes as smoothly as possible. Your recruiter will keep you updated on important dates and events that will benefit you while completing the admission process at NSU.
- A campus tour would be the next step in your process. NSU offers personalized tours at your convenience. During your tour you will be able to meet academic advisors, audition for organizations, meet with representatives in admissions and financial aid, and view the beautiful campus. So sign up for your campus tour today!
- Your next step will be to complete the admission requirements. This includes your application and the application fee of $20. Remember at NSU we have one scholarship application for all of the NSU scholarships. The priority deadline for the Scholarship Application is December 1st.
- Start getting all of your materials together for the Financial Aid office. Representatives are available in our Financial Aid office to assist you with your questions.
- On campus housing is another item you will need to take care of. During your campus tour you will get a chance to view the housing here on campus. These apartment style living villages are centrally located on campus and provide a wonderful community atmosphere for our students.
- By the spring of your senior year you will start hearing about many events that are hosted by Northwestern State University you should most definitely attend!
- In that same Spring you will have to register for Freshman Connection. This is an event hosted by students on campus. This event provides you with very important information about campus, lets you get acquainted with campus life and other incoming students. At this event you will also be able to register for your classes in the fall.
