Welcome to the Office of University Recruiting for the Louisiana Scholars' College, the state's designated four-year selective-admissions honors college in the liberal arts and sciences. Our mission is to meet the special needs of honors students throughout the college search process.

Established in 1987 as the state's designated honors college by the Louisiana Board of Regents, the Louisiana Scholars’ College offers each student the experience of a lifetime. The format of a private liberal arts college combined with the resources of larger university gives our students a unique educational opportunity.

The Scholars’ College is one of seven undergraduate colleges at Northwestern State University. Admission to the Scholars’ College is competitive with consideration given to academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and letters of recommendation. Students work closely with faculty, a collaboration that results in a rare intellectual experience for undergraduates.

Requirements for eligibilty for entering First Time Freshmen to the Louisiana Scholar's College:

  1. ACT composite of 25 or SAT composite of 1130 or higher and
  2. ACT subscores of 20 or SAT subscores of 480 or higher and
  3. 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or better unweighted grade point average in high school Course work in the Regents Curriculum or comparable curriculum.

 

Requirements for eligibilty for Home-schooled or transfer students to the Louisiana Scholar's College:

  1. ACT composite of 25 or SAT composite of 1130 or higher and
  2. ACT subscores of 20 or SAT subscores of 480 or higher and
  3. At least a 3.0 grade point average in 12 college hours or more
